Impedance Workbench

Upload an N-port Touchstone file, assign matching networks to specific ports, and simulate the cascaded S-parameters. Unused ports are automatically terminated as open circuits.

How to use this Workbench

  • 1. Upload DUT: Upload an N-port Touchstone file (.s1p, .s2p, .s5p, etc.) representing your base component, filter, or antenna.
  • 2. Select Ports: Choose which two ports you want to actively tune and monitor. Unselected ports are automatically terminated with infinite impedance (Open).
  • 3. Build Topology: Add series or shunt inductors (L) and capacitors (C) to Port A (Input) and Port B (Output). You can include realistic Q-factor losses for accurate modeling.
  • 4. Configure Traces: Choose which S-parameters to display and customize their colors and line styles to easily distinguish them.
  • 5. Simulate: Hit the "Run S-Parameter Simulation" button to mathematically cascade your components and generate Smith, Magnitude, and Phase charts.
